Artist's Description
This iconic building brings back memories of the Bachelors & Spinster Balls (B & S Balls) I attended as a young adult. Many miles were added to the speedometer for the sake of a good time dancing the night away at an outback dance hall. This one still stands in on Kennedy Development Rd, Middleton, QLD Australia.
Bachelor and Spinsters Balls (B&S) events are hosted regularly in rural Australia, known locally as "B & S Balls" or simply "B&S's". They are staged for young (18 years and over) spinsters and bachelors and traditionally the couples dress up in formal wear. The activities usually start at night and run until morning, but from mid-afternoon people will start to arrive and the partying/drinking will begin. Country music is often featured at these events.

About Vicki B Littell

Vicki B Littell is an Australian watercolor artist living in Florida. She has been professionally creating art since 2016. Her work is influenced by her love of the "sunburnt country" and people's life stories. Her unique style is easily recognized by the brilliant translucency of primary watercolors. She mixes realism with impressionism, and focuses on the mood of the subject whether be a moment in time, a landscape or a portrait. Vicki believes a painting is not complete until the soul is captured. While watercolors are her favorite medium, she enjoys sketching in graphite and charcoal. Often times Vicki will refer to her urban sketch journals for inspiration. She carries a sketch pad to capture the feel of a scene and documents it...
