About the Artist
Vicki B Littell is an Australian watercolor artist living in Florida. She has been professionally creating art since 2016. Although mostly self taught, Vicki credits her art development to her ongoing art studies under the mentorship of Professor Yong Chen.
Art style is influenced by her love of the sunburnt country and peoples life stories. Her unique style is easily recognized by the brilliant translucency of primary watercolors. Vicki mixes realism with impressionism, and focuses on the mood of the subject. Her belief is that a painting is not complete until the emotion is captured. Vicki produces commissioned artwork in graphite and charcoal but watercolors is her favorite medium.
Formerly a professional food banker, Vicki worked to address hunger in the Central Florida region. Since retiring, she continues to volunteer at a local food pantry, Servants Heart Ministry.
Note from the Artist
I am a proud Wiradjuri artist sharing my cultural language and stories through my visual art. I grew up on a wheat and sheep station in NSW, Australia. Part of my ancestry is aboriginal and connected to the Stolen Generation. My art is influenced by family ties to indigenous people of Wiradjuri Country. It is a rich spiritual experience to finally discover my country and its people, and somehow make it work cohesively with memories of the white Australian culture that I grew up in. These days I live with my mob in Florida, US. They are my biggest fans.
